I’ve talked about it before – life has changed since I’ve become a mommy. I always told myself I would never let myself go after starting a family, but who has time to think about their looks when they’ve got to feed, entertain, change, bathe etc etc etc. a baby, and keep the house together! I haven’t had my hair done in about a year (seriously), my nails are chipped, my eyebrows need work. I’ve been feeling really frumpy, so I decided to do something about it. Yes – I brought sexy back into my life.
I woke up that morning absolutely terrified about what the day had in store for me. I went over a million and one different excuses I could use to get out of my commitment. “I’ve only put down a $50 deposit, I suppose I could afford to lose 50 bucks,” I repeated in my head. Somehow I forced myself into the car. My first stop was makeup. “You don’t wear a ton of makeup, do you?” said the makeup artist. Not anymore. A bit of tinted moisturizer has been the extent of it lately. She worked her magic, and I left with a pretty face, but my hair and clothing left much to be desired. I felt awkward.
My next stop was for hair. I told the stylist my plan was to “go with it” today, and she could do my hair however she pleased. While curling, spraying and pinning, and asked “Do you find your hair is thinning since you’ve had your baby?” You betcha. I pull out chunks in the shower (sorry, not a very nice thing to think about) and am having to de-hair my clothing several times a day. They say it has something to do with the decrease in hormones. Whatever it is – it sucks. When the stylist finished doing her thing, I looked in the mirror and smiled. My nerves from earlier in the day began to fade, as I caught a sparkle in my eye that I hadn’t seen in quite some time! It was the sexy, flirty, younger version of me that I had been missing! And I was ready to BRING IT.
I got in front of the camera, and transformed into a completely different person! I was still a little awkward, as I’m having a hard time adjusting to my post-baby body, but I felt sexier than I have in a very long time! If you haven’t guessed yet, I had beautiful boudoir photos taken – something I highly recommend to any woman who wants her sexy back! They were classy, very tasteful and sensual all at the same time, and though I had to force myself a bit to get them done, I am so happy I did it!
Here’s a sneak peak of one of the photos I had done!
